I have have my previous KENTA banner made by Eva for a while now and felt that it is time to changed it.

At first I was going to have pictures for the new banner but I felt like maybe I should tried something new. Something out of the norm for Let's Talk TVB.

The quote is not something I translated, I found it on the net, so credit goes to the one who translated it.

I simply made the banner to make it pretty. There were quite a few TVB quotes that I stumbled across but found this one more meaningful and inspiring. I wanted to have this quote as my banner to remind people who are still here, or simply just discovered my blog through another blog or search tab, to know that if they are facing any hardship, know that you can overcome it. Like the quote said, making a mistakes can be a blessing in disguise because you are learning a valuable lesson from it.

Happy 4th Birthday to Let's Talk TVB!!!

On 29th of March marks this blog 4th anniversary. Felt like yesturday that I posted this for its 3rd birthday. Kind of feel surreal to have a blog for four years.

It's ashame that I'm not that committed to TVB dramas anymore. When I first started this blog, I wanted to talked about my thoughts on the drama because there was so much to say. I missed the old days with Myolie, Tavia, Charmaine, Ron, Raymond, Bosco and Kenneth. The old TVB actors and actresses.

Should I still continue this blog with TVB related, or should it just be a blog for whatever comes to mind? Lemme know what you guys think.

Destined To Love You (Chinese Drama)

To be honest, the male casts draws me to the drama and I miss watching Bosco in dramas.

Episodes: 41 (I was a bit hesitate with the number of episodes, but it is worth it)

Where do I start?
The cast looks promising which is the main reason why I decided to give this drama a go, because the synopsis to me is quite typical. In order to save her sick mother, Qian Bao Bao stole the identity of Xian Hao, a psychology instructor for Long Cheng Military Academy.  Along the way she meets Xiang Hao and the two did not get along well at all. While Wen Tao is her only friend at the academy who protects her, and always help her. Thus, a love triangle.

What I like about this drama?
Xiang Hao. Honestly, I didn't expect to like Xiang Hao at all. He's a prankster. No joke. He always prank Bao Bao because like Bao Bao describes it, "Cat and Mouse relationship." Every scenes of him and Bao Bao makes me laugh so hard. He is a child at heart. The cute thing is when they were at the ball, and he wants to dance with Bao Bao but Wen Tao ask her first. The result, Wen Tao and Xiang Hao dance together. Xiang Hao confess to her that he likes her and that would have to be the cutest scene yet. When he found out the truth that Bao Bao isn't Xian Hao, his fiancee, he still loves her. He did not care about her identity. And these two have been through so much together.

Shen Wen Tao. I knew right from the beginning that Bao Bao would not choose him. It's not because he is a bad person, no he is opposite of that. He is gentle, smart, serious and understanding. He found out that Bao Bao is not Xian Hao long ago and did not expose it, instead he protects her. Every time Bao Bao is sad, he is always there to comfort her, he is always helping her in whatever situation she is in. He loves her. Both of them adopt Xiao Yu, a puppy. Even though he knows that Bao Bao doesn't like him, he is still always there for her.

Bao Bao. The moment she choose to return to the academy for Xiang Hao, she knew that her life is always on the edge of death. Because stolen identity is a major crime. But with her best friend, Wen Tao and her lover, Xiang Hao, and the friends that she made at the academy, she have the courage to face whatever challenges that is against it. When the real Xian Hao return to the academy, there were a time when Xiang Hao were force to marry Xian Hao to save Bao Bao from death sentence. Of course, throughout the challenges, Xian Hao realise that loving Xiang Hao for ten years is a mistakes. And that her real lover is, Ouyang Fei, the boy that save her from drowning when she was 5 years old.

Xiang Hao and Shen Wen Tao- Bromance. Both were competitors for Jiyad Captain position. Xiang Hao did not like Wen Tao because of a misunderstanding, whereas Wen Tao have always see Xiang Hao as his brother. Throughout the drama, Xiang Hao and Wen Tao mend their broken brotherhood and they were "Brotherhood for life and the next lifetime."

Gu Xiao Bai. Du Feng. Gao Mei Ren. Han Xu. These four guys are so loyal to Xiang Hao and Wen Tao. I am a bit bias coz out of the four I like Gu Xiao Bai played by Zhang Yun Long.

Dean Xie and Dr Su. These two are wayyy too cute and hilarious too!

Xian Hao and Ouyang Fei. I am so happy that they were together. These two are just too cute. I knew there were something special when Ouyang Fei save her the second time (the first time when she was 5 years old) from the river which she fell off from the train.

What I don't like about this drama?
THE ENDING! Did I just went through all 41 episodes of this drama just to have this ending. No. I did not. I was expecting a happy ending in which Xiang Hao and Bao Bao are happily together and Shen Wen Tao with them. I just want a happy ending. How hard can it be to fulfill my wish?

Shen Wen Tao I'm in tears watching it. I was hoping that when you used yourself as human shield against Li Ji Zou that perhaps, Bao Bao escape and shot those bullets from behind to kill Li Ji Zou (Main Villain btw) but nope. It is not the case. Wen Tao shot himself and the bullets shot Li Ji Zou too. Wen Tao sacrifice himself. I could not believe that Wen Tao died. I mean, I was a bit suspicious that either Wen Tao or Ouyang Fei would died. It's an instinct that I have. Still, Wen Tao's death is too much for me. And if Wen Tao's death is not the worse, the academy thought that Bao Bao died while they were in a mission to destroy the weapons from the enemy sides.

Wen Tao and the other soldiers that sacrifice themselves for the country were reward with a medal and with respect.

Xiang Hao believes that Bao Bao is still alive. So he left the academy. On the train, where it have all begin when he first met Bao Bao, he met her again. Bao Bao were on the train that he is on, but the stupid and saddest thing that could possibly happen is, Bao Bao have amnesia. Yeah, so she doesn't remember who Xiang Hao is. Heart broken that the love of his life doesn't remembered him, he decides to tell her the stories of him and her while on the train.

Xiang Hao. He has the worse ending. He lost his best friend, a brother for life in the mission, and now his lover does not remember him. Why did all three main characters have a sad ending? One is dead. One have amnesia. One is left with all the memory. What is the meaning of this? Why?

Nonetheless, this drama is worth a watch.

Hello!

Its been a while since I've post something here but maybe that's because I don't watched TVB dramas anymore. I've found that only one or two TVB dramas that grab my attention, Brick Slaves and Under the Veil. Not sure if I should write a review on it, lemme know if you're interested.

Last year Myolie tied the knot with Phillip Lee, and I couldn't be happier for her.

Its a bittersweet feeling for me to see Myolie and Kate leave TVB last year. A lot of actors and actresses that I grew up watching are leaving replacing them are the beauty pageants and its never gonna be the same again. I missed those good old days.

Nonetheless, just want to say thank you for still reading the posts.

Be the one to make the difference!

Though I haven't watch any TVB drama lately, but I will always be inspired by these drama. TVB have change my point of view in society. They inspire me to be who I am today. And I am forever grateful for it.

The Last Breakthrough

This drama not only inspire me to try to make a difference in this world but it has makes me sees the reality of the world.. It's about a group of doctors and nurses who volunteer their time in 'Life Force,' to help people in Kenya, Africa. It's an inspirational drama. Words cannot say how much this drama has inspire many people, perhaps it has inspire you to be a doctor or a nurse? Or perhaps it has inspire you to volunteer your time to help the local people? Remember, there are people out there that need our help, so we should help the needy too. Give something back to the society perhaps?

Inspire to be a policeman? The Academy gives you a sneak peek of 27 weeks of hard training to be a policeman. Honestly, this has to be one of the better polices dramas. Besides the romance, the road to be a polices has been a long road but in the end it would be worth it, because at least after this, there are more people who can protect the society. Protect the community. 

The Other Truth

Want to be a lawyer? Or wonder how the jury were selected? Or how the court system works? 

The Other Truth is different from most legal dramas that TVB has produce. It shows how the jury were selects, how they decides the verdict of the case, it shows the grey area in the court system. You might think that they are innocence but really they are guilty. And the legal system shows the justice and fairness in the adversary system. Unless it is the Inquisitorial system where the truth is the main objective. 

Do you want to be lawyer? But there are different types of lawyer too, a good lawyer or a bad lawyer. A bad lawyer is not technically an inexperience lawyer but the sort of lawyers that you sees in drama, where in order of winning a big cases, they would turn from wrong to right, they would make their clients from guilty to innocence and the parties on the right side would be seem as bad. Don't you agree? Is money really important than morality?

Maybe you're inspires to be a doctor after watching 'The Last Breakthrough' or simply because you just love KenTa. Being a doctors would means that you need to have a lot of patients, especially with all the years of studying at university, then being a trainee at the doctor, then being a specialist trainee, until you can actually be a specialist in the field. And that is a very long time. Not trying to make it sound impossible, but being a doctor is a rewarding career. Because doctors are saving people lives, and even if doctors cannot save all lives, at least they have tries their best. Working at the hospitals, doctors would be able to sees the happiness and sorrows everyday. Can you handle it? Remember, you can be the one that make a differences in saving a person, and not just the person itself, but their family too.

Maybe instead of being a doctor, why not be a psychiatrist instead and specialist in mentally ill criminals? Think about it, not only are you a doctor but you are also somewhat working with the police? Being able to help people recover from an illness should be a rewarding job. Would you not agree?

And these are the dramas that have inspires me, and I hope that this post or dramas have inspire you too. Perhaps, you are confuse with what career you want to do, maybe you might want a rewarding career, has these tick the boxes for you? And whatever career you are doing or studying or aspires to be, I truly wish you the very best in it. May you be happy, and perhaps be the one to make the the difference in the society. Steven Ma

Steven is an amazing actor. He is also my childhood star. Currently watching 'Storm in Cocoon' and all I could think is will Tavia and Steven have a happy ending? And who is the murderer that kill Steven's sister? I don't know yet and please don't spoil to me.

It was so good to see Steven on-screen again.
Have you guys purchase Steven's Cherish album. I heard his preview on Youtube and it my favourite track is track 6. I haven't purchase one myself yet mainly because it is temporally out of stock.

If your a huge fan of Fala Chen and Steven Ma, You should listen to their duet. I can't stop listening to it.

I came across this YouTube videos and just listening to it remind me of my childhood and the beautiful dramas that TVB have produce.

I remember each and every background music and it makes me think of all the old dramas that TVB have created. TVB have create the best dramas and it have teach us a lot of things such as the bad people never have a happy ending, the good will always have a happy ending so if you want a happy ending, be a good person. Not to mention being a policeman is hard work especially in "The Academy" where we can see Ron Ng and Samuel Chan training for 27 weeks to be policemen. Being a doctor is no easy task such as "Healing Hands" and "The Hippocratic Crush." Being a lawyer have a good lawyer and a bad lawyer such as in "Will Power" where the bad lawyer have a terrible ending in the end. "Survivor Law, Ghetto Justices, The  Other Truth" all of these dramas have teach us how the legal systems works in Hong Kong and gives us a brief idea of what type of lawyers are there.

In "Triumph in the Skies 1 and 2" gives us a brief idea on how to be a pilot and flight attendance.

"Step in the Past, Three Kingdom RPG" gives us a tastes in the past is like.

"Journey to the West," gives a history of China of how the monk together with the pig, monkey, and another man I don't remember how they have been through a lot to collect the bible.

TVB have produces amazing dramas over 46th years. And even though some of the drama produces lately may not be as the best drama as before, lets remember that TVB have been a part of our life.

Melon's thought 2013

Last year I made a page on this because I want to read back on what my journey have been.

I realize that I have been a lot more dedicated to this blog a lot last year by blogging most of the drama with episodes thoughts. However this year, I don't post episodes thoughts as much as I did last year.

This year I have post at least once every month whereas last year I would post around five a month. Its not because I'm not as dedicate into this blog anymore but maybe because TVB dramas no longer have that excitement anymore. The excitement of the storyline, the cast and pretty much everything. Last year there were dramas where I couldn't stop talking about such as Bottled Passion, The Hippocratic Crush, Three Kingdom RPG, Witness Insecurity and so on. This year the only dramas that I remember talking about a lot is A Great Way To Care 2.

Anyway, I drop by to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a very happy new year. Have a safe break and do visit this blog more.

Even though I haven't blog for a month now!
So far, I haven't seen Slow Boat Home nor A Change of Heart! A bit slow on dramas!
I'm just re-watching To Grow With Love, starring Andy Hui and Myolie Wu. I love this drama because the story line is cute and romance! I like how Myolie is rich but leaves her wealth behind searching for the man that can communicate with her through the hand print on the sunset painting. When she found the man, she would keep on searching and thought that the man is Matthew Ko, but he isn't. While she search for the man, Kenneth Ma continue to confess his love for her. Lets' not forget that Kenneth's character is rich, dorky-like and weak while Myolie's character is more curves. Kenneth likes her because she has a big ass which he always say, big ass would have plenty of children.
When Myolie found the man that can transform the hand print to sunflower and say that sunflower can something about sunset related. The man is Andy Hui. The man that Myolie hates because he is against her and her weight. He is a designer and she is a designer too. Basically, they hate each other.

When Andy forget his memory, she lies and fatten him up by making him drink coconut juice. Eventually, he gain his memory again and he hates her. He realise that he love her because when he lose his memory, the time they spent time together were the happiest! Myolie loves him but try to forget him by marrying Kenneth. Kenneth realise that she never got over Andy and decide to let her go and will win her back when she fully loves him. Though that never happen because in the end, he was alone. (Which is why in Season Of Love they were together as a couple, so if you feel sorry for him, don't worry he ends up with her in Season of Love- Winter)
Andy broke up with his girlfriend, Claire Yiu and chase Myolie. And during the ups and down, they end up together because they live happily ever after! Selina Li and Jack Wu were a couple too!

I decide to re-watch this drama because it was cute, the storyline is sweet and I feel like watching something light-hearted since the drama lately aren't that appealing yet.

I heard that Slow Boat Home and A Change Of Heart are good, so I will give these two a try and write my reviews for it soon!

Is it really luck that will make you a rising star or effort?

Lately I been wondering about TVB first class actors/actress leaving the company allowing the other celebs to shine. It seen fair for most actress and actors to have a better opportunity to show their acting ability. However, most of the people that get to be promoted are from beauty pageant but what about the ones that work so hard and still has not given an opportunity to be able to get lead roles. A lot of actors and actress play the same extras role over and over again.

Where is their chance to shine? Stop using new actors and actress to be on-screen allow the other actors/actress to have a lead role?

I'm starting to wonder is it true that you have to have connection to be able to get the lead role? Do you have to know how to be a sweet talker to get the lead role? Do you have to date a famous person to get a lead role? Is the drama, "The Beauty Of The Game," base on reality? A lot of questions keep me thinking is their fairness in the entertainment industry. Honestly is there?

This post isn't meant to offend anyone, it is simply my thinking and I would like to know do you agree or disagree with me?

Just recently found put Brian Chu is only 21 years old. WOW! I though he was 22 or something.

The Hippocratic Crush 2 is in the filming process since February.

Ruco Chan has an amazing voice when he sings.

I'm currently watching Kevin Cheng Ip Man, so far I feel the story is a bit draggy with Kevin's love life. I'm kind of bored of it but I'm only watching because I want to know how the bad guys turn out.

Also I'm watching 'A Great Way to Care 2,' for about 12eps. Yes, I haven't post episode thoughts about this drama because I want to watch all the drama and put it all in one go. The drama so far is good.

I briefly watch the 'Bullet Brian' but heard a lot negative reviews, should I continue because I'm thinking of skipping the series. Maybe give a try otherwise....skip.......

Re watching: The Rippling Blossom

It stars: Chilam Cheung, Myolie Wu, Tavia Yeung, Michael Tse

The story is about Chilam and Michael fight to be the best Sushi Master (Well, its Michael that's wants to fight for it). They travel to Hokkaido, Japan. Along the way they learnt how to become a better person, and learnt what really is important to them.

I've been re watching the drama, though I skipped a lot. I'm watching it again because mainly I love Chilam and Myolie's love story. It is so cute.  I'm looking forward to Triumph In The Skies 2 because Chilam and Myolie will be in it, though not a couple.

I also love the theme song sung by Chilam Cheung.

A Special Note to My Readers!!!

Hey guys,
I know I haven't been blogging for a while. Let's just say that I've been busy.
I thought I drop by and say a couples of things.

As you may all know that Chinese New Year is coming soon. It happen to be on the 10th of February, which happen to be on a Sunday! YAY!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!!

Another thing is that I am thinking of skipping the rest of The Confidant. So far I have skip already eight episodes. Do you think I should continue this drama? I felt like this series is dragging way too much and it is really boring to watch now.

As for Missing You, the series just focus on looking for people. I was hoping for a love story between Jason and Linda, but I guess not.

Seriously, lately I've been skipping a lot of series, which is something I don't do a lot.

I could only hope that TVB will broadcast series like Bottled Passion, The Hippocratic Crush and so on.

 



My Childhood Stars

Funny how time flies by. Childhood seem like yesterday.

Steven Ma
I like him since watching 'Perish In The Name Of Love,' it was my favourite childhood TVB series. He was so cute with Charmaine Sheh as a couple. In the drama Steven and Charmaine was childhood friends but somehow Charmaine left and work in his lantern company, Steven couldn't recognise her.

Charmaine Sheh
I like her in 'Perish In The Name Of Love.' When I was little, I actually thought Charmaine Sheh and Steven Ma were a married couple in real life. Now, I know what a fool I've been.

Sonja Kwok
I like her a lot in 'The Legend Of Love,' she was a fairy and breaks all the rule to live in Earth and search for her true love. She is an amazing actress.

In Cupid Stupid, Steven didn't end up with the girl he loved.
In When Lane Merge, Sonja didn't end up with the guy she loved.

Steven and Sonja were a cute on-screen couple in The 7th Day.

Just a random post

Hey guys!

I might sounds a little repetitive about what I am about to mention here, since everything I want to say is in "Melon's 2012 Thoughts," so if you would like, you might want to check it out or just completely ignore my speech.

I have add a couples of polls on the rights side of my blogs, so feel free to express your opinon on 'Best TVB Couple is,' "Improved Debut actress and Actor."

Have a safe holiday and be excited for a new year with loads of cool TVB series to air in 2013. I heard that Triumph in the Skies 2 will be an anniversary drama next year. I can't wait for that series to air. I love the first season, although I don't remember much except that Joe Ma was in the first season and he was in Italy and save a girl from a car crash. Joe and Flora was a couple in the first season. I briefly remember Ron's character learning how to be a pilot. Sadly, I don't remember Kenneth in the first season nor Bosco. Where have I been when they were on-screen?

Beauty at War will be an anniversary drama, it was a part two of Beauty and War. I remember at the end when Gigi and Charmaine escape with Moses from the kingdom. Gigi was injured. I also remember that Gigi and Charmaine always fight to get the Kings attention. Am I right guys?

I can't wait until I finish The Confidant and Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles. Also I can't wait until I can get my hands on Friendly Fire and Missing You. I really want to watch Missing You, the story sounds interesting.

My Favourite TVB characters' couples

The following couple listed are from dramas that I've seen this year and completely adore them.

Kenneth Ma and Tavia Yeung
The Hippocratic Crush

Kenneth played the doctor character quite splendid. I would have to say this is his breakthrough role. I really like the part when Kenneth mention one of Tavia's quote that she mention in her love letters to him. It is so cute; proves that he read her letters. My other part is when Tavia confess to Kenneth because there was a cake that had the words 'I love you' and she thought that Kenneth was confessing his feeling to her. Turn out it wasn't. The part when he pre-propose to her was a big hit, his words are so touching. Their first dates was so cute. I love this couple and can't wait until The Hippocratic Crush 2 is out. I also love the theme song by Joey Yung!

Raymond Wong and Nikki Chow
Bottled Passion

I love the plot of this drama. It was so addictive. I absolute love it when Raymond made his master revenge on the family that had ruins his life when he was little while he was searching milk-lolly girl. I love the love story between Li How (Raymond Wong's character) and milk lolly girl. It's good to know that Raymond Wong's is nominated for Glove Come Off and Nikki Chow is nominated for her milk lolly girl role! I also love the theme song by Teresa Chueng

Witness Insecurity

Bosco is so cute in this series! Always love his acting! Linda and Bosco are so cute as a couple even though they didn't officially dated in the series. I didn't like the tragic ending though. They were forbidden to be together; just when they finally can be together he died! The Most Happy Thing by Linda Chung suits the drama a lot!

Kenny Wong and Aimee Chan
The Last Steep Ascent

I love this couple right now! Kenny is so good for her. He would leave everything behind for her, so that she wouldn't have to commit suicide. When Aimee moved to the big town, Kenny would often bough her flowers (she likes the smell of it). They were seen as cousin around other people eyes because they couldn't really let everyone know who Aimee true identity is. Aimee really likes Kenny and I know Kenny feel the same way towards her. I'm up to eps 23 now! Can't wait until this couple spark! (To know more about the series read my drama review above)

Him Law and Mandy Wong
Diva in Distress

They're the reason why I watch this drama in the first place! I love how Him is so mean and cool around Mandy. Mandy is so adorable in this drama! They have collide together for 5 series already!

Supporting TVB all the way!

Lately, TVB seem to face a whole lot of issues with major stars leaving to the rival company. Stars that left TVB for the Mainland, such as Steven, Sammul and Charmaine. I've been watching TVB since I was young, so I support TVB all the way. This year is the year of the dragon, so this year will be a great year to TVB. So far TVB have broadcast amazing drama such as Bottled Passion ( My fav #1 drama this year), L'Escargot, a drama about how Hong Kong families struggled to buy their own home, and Wish and Switch.
